Hwagaejangteo - Hwagaejangteo is an old traditional market in Gyeongsangdo which sells herbal medicine for traditional remedies. There are different varieties of dried leaves, roots and seeds in many shops and also some traditional pots and bowls are also available. It is an interesting experience to stop by in this traditional market once in a while.
Daraengi maeul-rice terrace village – Daraengi village is famous for its stunning rice terraces. This rice terraces starts to produce a vibrant green in summer season. You can also get a chance to catch or help the farmers plant the rice in the village.
German village – Some of the residents who reside in this village are retirees from Germany. The houses are situated in the hill with red-tiled roofs and wide white walls which will make you think you are in Germany. On this village, the land is offered cheap and construction of the house is subsidies to Koreans who lived as miner or nurse in Germany.
Jukbangryeom anchovy fishing – Jukbangryeom is a unique fishing method that used bamboo poles to set an open V-shape. The trap is used to catch anchovies, mackerel or shrimps. Dishes made in anchovy such as myeolchi ssambap (anchovy and vegetable wraps with rice) and myeolchi hoe (raw anchovy) are offered in some surrounding restaurants.
Oedo island – Oedo Island is a fiddly fusion of Korean and European garden in one beautiful island. Strolling around the garden is just so stunning, it has fancy gardens designed artistically. The island has one café and souvenir shop and has been a filming site of the famous Korean drama – Winter Sonata.
Somaemuldo – This is another popular destination for hiker. In the month of October, the entire island is covered with chamomile flowers. It is also surrounded by crystal clear ocean. There is another small island located just across it called – Deungdaesum Island which can be cross during low tied. The rock formations in Somaemuldo has been featured in some commercials and movie scene in South Korea.
Tongyeong cable car – Tongyeong is surrounded by group of islets which is good place for island hopping. One way to enjoy the magnificent view is riding a cable car. This ride takes around 10 minutes and once you reach the top you will see an observatory deck.
